The Item Upgrader in World of Warcraft
The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies for upgrading gear. These currencies can be traded at the item upgrade rs NPCs Cuzolth and Vaskarn.
Each item may be upgraded up to its maximum level only once for a slot. Upgrades to the slot are cheaper afterward. The pity system that was introduced in The War Within, also reduces the extreme variance in upgrades.
Upgrades
In gaming, upgrades are replacements for components that enhance performance or add new features. They can be purchased or earned in various ways, such as in-game events as well as from cash shop items.
