World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
upgrade item of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded item upgrading can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may become more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
